Walking progress without the pressure

WalkHero is an iPhone walking app and pedometer for people who want everyday movement to feel visible, useful and worth repeating. It turns permitted Apple Health data into a clear daily trail, then connects that day with weekly and monthly progress.

You can also start a recorded walk when the route matters. WalkHero keeps the route, duration, distance and steps from that session together, so a walk can remain a memory rather than disappearing into one daily total.

What the app uses

With your permission, WalkHero reads relevant step, distance and active-calorie data from Apple Health. Route recording uses location access only when you choose to start a recorded walk. You can review and change app permissions through iOS settings.

WalkHero is currently available for iPhone and requires iOS 17 or later. It does not currently support Android step tracking. The app is free to download, and some advanced features may require a subscription or purchase shown in the App Store flow.

How the walking guides are written

WalkHero’s guides begin with a direct answer, separate product behavior from general walking advice and link to the source behind factual claims. Apple Support is used for iPhone and Apple Health behavior. Public-health guidance links to the organization that publishes it.

The guides do not invent ratings, testimonials, medical outcomes or universal goals. They are reviewed when the app changes or when a cited source needs to be updated. Each guide shows its latest review date.
